Job Description

We are seeking a fixed-term special education teacher to be part of our school's learning support and student welfare expert network. The fixed-term special education teacher works with students from different language departments and collaborates closely with class teachers, subject teachers, student welfare experts, guardians, and other partners. The role emphasizes pedagogical expertise, a consultative approach, and the ability to operate in a multicultural environment. The responsibilities of the fixed-term special education teacher include planning, implementing, evaluating, and developing learning support. They teach general education students with mild learning difficulties, such as reading, writing, speech development, or individual subjects. The teacher is responsible for designing and implementing individual and small-group support measures in collaboration with teachers and participates in developing pedagogical practices for learning support across the school. The role involves maintaining information and pedagogical documents related to learning support, as well as preparing and coordinating learning support activities. The teacher participates in assessing students' learning difficulties together with student welfare experts and plans necessary support measures in cooperation with the student, guardians, and other partners. They act as a pedagogical consultant to teachers and participate in preventive student welfare activities that promote the well-being of the entire school community. The special education teacher's duties include convening the student welfare team and preparing meetings in collaboration with the vice principal. They are responsible for preparing applications for European Baccalaureate -specific arrangements (BAC Special Arrangements) in cooperation with student welfare experts and serve as an expert in school entrance exam arrangements concerning learning support issues.
