Job Description
Helsinki University's practice school, primarily Helsinki Normal Lyceum, which includes grades 7-9 and high school, is seeking a part-time English and Swedish language teacher for a fixed-term position from August 10, 2026, to June 5, 2027. The candidate must have a teaching qualification in the subjects to be taught. In addition to professional competence, we value good cooperation and interaction skills as well as a developmental approach. We would like to hear about your previous teaching experience and pedagogical use of teaching technology. We hope you will fit into our open and community-oriented work environment. The salary for the position is based on the university practice school's collective agreement. The salary for the part-time teacher is determined by the number of hours taught. The selected candidate must provide a criminal record extract as required by the Act on Background Checks for Persons Working with Children (504/2002). Annually, about 100 students studying to become teachers, special education teachers, and subject teachers complete their pedagogical training at the school.
