Special Needs Supervisor (Substitutes) Rinnekodit Taimi - Rinnekodit Oy - Helsinki, Finland

We are currently looking for a qualified social services professional with a university of applied sciences degree in social and health care to work as a special needs supervisor on fixed-term contracts as maternity leave replacements from 1 September 2026 to 31 May 2027 and from 10 August 2026 to 31 January 2027. Taimi is a demanding level residential unit in northern Espoo, with five places for children with mild intellectual disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorder, who have psychological challenges. Taimi is located in Lakisto, Espoo. The unit develops individual activity models for children and assesses its practices weekly to meet the rehabilitation, care, and educational needs of children. The role involves supporting children and young people to live their own lives, maintaining residents' functional capacity and overall well-being, participating in guiding clients, and reporting. The role may include medication administration if qualified, and acting as a primary supervisor. Requirements include a university of applied sciences degree in social and health care, registration with the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health, social and health care professional card (Kanta authentication card) or readiness to obtain it during the trial period, ability to demonstrate medication competence by obtaining a medication permit within four months of starting employment, readiness for three-shift work, basic Finnish language skills and professional terminology, vaccination against infectious diseases as per law, and preferably experience in child protection, a driving license with readiness to drive in the Helsinki metropolitan area, and possibly a neuropsychological trainer qualification or other neuropsychological training and experience. Rinnekodit is a smoke-free and drug-free workplace. A criminal record extract according to law 504/2002 is required, not older than six months. The work community includes practical nurses, nurses, special needs supervisors, a responsible supervisor, and a service unit manager.
