Job Description

At Sweco, our designers plan the cities of tomorrow and critical infrastructure for societal functioning in a relaxed and supportive work community where we take our work seriously but avoid unnecessary stress. We are currently looking for an experienced architect to take on a responsible role in demanding data center projects and to strengthen our expertise in a rapidly growing industry. Would you like to help design a better future with us? Your role at Sweco As an experienced new building designer, you will serve as an architectural lead in demanding data center projects. You will be responsible for the lead designer tasks and coordinating the design process in multidisciplinary projects, emphasizing operational reliability, energy efficiency, safety, flexibility, and close collaboration between different design disciplines. You will ensure that architectural design progresses with high quality, customer focus, and project goals. You will work closely with our team of architects and other design professionals in project teams. Your tasks also include participating in tendering processes, mentoring junior designers, and sharing expertise. You will be involved in international, ambitious, and technically demanding data center projects, where solutions are developed quickly to meet industry needs. These projects also offer opportunities to learn from experienced specialists. Our architectural studios are located in Helsinki, Turku, Tampere, Jyväskylä, Oulu, and Kuopio. The primary workplace for this role is Helsinki, but we work flexibly and network across Finland. What we promise you We understand that professionals like you are in high demand. We want to assure you that this opportunity is worth pursuing at Sweco. Transforming society together. At Sweco, you will be involved in creating future cities and a more sustainable society – truly making an impact. You will play an important role in enabling and supporting business activities that concretely build a more sustainable and functional society through daily work at thousands of design desks, construction sites, and studios across Finland. An inquisitive, brave, and encouraging work community. You will work with experienced architects in a close-knit environment where we value, support, and motivate each other. We have diverse expertise within the company, so help is always available for problem-solving. As a community, we look forward, share knowledge, and solve issues together. Career and learning opportunities are guaranteed. It is important to us that you can develop and plan your own career path, and we listen to you. Our Sweco Academy offers various training opportunities. When things happen in daily life, we are flexible. Work and life sometimes require adjustments. Good work experiences are fundamental to us, and you will notice this quickly when you join us as a colleague. We work where it is most meaningful – often together in the office. We expect fluency in Finnish and English, both spoken and written, as well as experience with Revit and ACC. We also value the ability to mentor younger colleagues, interest in tendering, and a desire to develop architectural design for data centers with a skilled team.
