Medical Social Worker Internal Medicine and Rehabilitation - HUS diagnostiikkakeskus - Espoo, Finland

We are seeking a social worker for a permanent position. The placement is currently at Jorvi Hospital in Espoo. You will work in the Health Social Work unit of the Internal Medicine and Rehabilitation division at HUS. The start date is 1.9.2026 or as agreed. The main work areas include maternity clinics, HAL- and ETU-clinics (pregnant women with a history of substance use, severe mental health or social challenges), and postpartum wards. The work involves assessing patients' life situations, guiding them to appropriate services, and collaborating closely with midwives. The core tasks include psychosocial support for patients and their families, as well as network work with child protection, substance abuse services, and other social services. The work is planned and goal-oriented. It does not include making official decisions. The Health Social Work unit provides services at several locations across various medical specialties (e.g., internal medicine, neurology, surgery, gynecology, and obstetrics). Our team includes a lead social worker, eight responsible social workers, and approximately 70 social workers. Qualifications: - Licensed social worker. - Good spoken and written Finnish language skills; satisfactory skills in spoken and written Swedish, or good skills in spoken and written Swedish and satisfactory skills in Finnish. - We require vaccination against infectious diseases according to the Communicable Diseases Act for those working in client and patient facilities, and health status verification for tuberculosis for healthcare workers.
