Job Description
Join us in teaching life skills in Tuusula municipality! Tuusula's basic education work is supported by good resources, effective structures, and a manageable size that fosters a nimble and immediate community atmosphere. We work with dedication, community effort, and responsibility—come and join us! What do we expect from you? We are looking for a part-time teacher for basic education at Kellokoski School for a fixed-term position from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027. The role is a team teacher position for grades 4-6 (approximately 24 weeks of full-time work), depending on recruitment. We seek a competent classroom teacher and hope you have the skills and attitude to develop co-teaching. We offer challenging and interesting work in a professional community, as well as opportunities to develop your skills through regular training on current topics. Kellokoski School is a comprehensive school with about 800 students. It also hosts two preschool groups and the Tuusula Upper Secondary School’s Kellokoski campus. The school is professional and development-oriented. Shared leadership and team teaching have been developed over several years. A strong sense of community and focus on well-being are reflected in a cheerful staff, which influences the teaching work. The school’s vision of an open and communal school is visible in everyday interactions with students, guardians, and local stakeholders. We use the Pro School model to foster a positive and warm community. Qualifications are based on the decree on the qualifications of education personnel (Dec. 14, 1998/986). If qualified applicants are not available, other candidates will also be considered. The successful candidate must present a criminal record extract for working with children and a satisfactory health certificate. Why choose Tuusula municipality as your employer? For us, the art of teaching is about not having to face the ever-changing daily life alone or with limited resources. We provide space for you to engage with students, make pedagogical choices thoughtfully, and develop your work collaboratively with colleagues. As part of the Tuusula teaching community, you will have: Resources that are visible in daily work Our teaching resources are well-managed. This is evident, for example, in special education, where we always have an inclusive special education teacher per hundred students. Shared classes, material procurement, and flexible solutions support teaching across different schools, considering local needs. Multidisciplinary support teacher role You will not work alone. In addition to the principal and vice-principal, you will have support from special education teachers, school counselors, student welfare services, and close cooperation with youth work and other networks. Co-teaching is a conscious approach in Tuusula, offering many opportunities for collaboration and sharing responsibilities. Opportunities for growth and learning Tuusula values learning and development positively. Development means deepening your teaching skills and improving teaching sustainably, not constant change or chasing career paths. We believe that daily learning happens through doing together. Ideas are listened to and often quickly put into practice. A manageable-sized municipality with a nimble and immediate atmosphere Tuusula is a suitably sized municipality: agile and approachable, yet very close to the capital region. Schools are often central to their local communities and villages, serving as important places for students, families, and the entire community. School leadership and principals are present and involved in daily life without heavy bureaucracy or middlemen. Salary, working hours, and employee benefits Salary and other terms of employment are determined by the municipal sector’s collective agreement for education personnel (OVTES) and Tuusula’s job complexity assessment. The task-specific salary is €3,059.58/month (including base salary + Tuusula allowance). A six-month probation period applies. You will have access to occupational health services, and for your well-being, we also offer wellness, cultural, and sports benefits, including discounts on sports groups, gym, and swimming hall tickets.
