Early Childhood Education Teacher - Rautjärven kunta - Rautjärvi, Finland

We are seeking an early childhood education teacher for the upcoming term, for a fixed-term position from 1.8.2026 to 30.5.2027, in a group of 3-5-year-olds. During the fall, we will open a new unit in early childhood education, and we are looking forward to your caring attitude to help develop new early childhood education and bring to life the South Karelia regional model of early childhood upbringing. Every day, we offer children opportunities to explore, participate, and influence, whether marveling at insects in the nearby forest in the morning or playing shop in a playhouse in the afternoon. As an early childhood education teacher, you will be responsible for the pedagogical activities of the child group in accordance with the early childhood education plan, the unit’s operational plan, and the child's individual goals. Together with your team and the children, you will plan, implement, document, and evaluate activities. Qualifications include compliance with the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) or, under transitional provisions (Section 75), a Bachelor's degree in Education (LTO), a suitable university of applied sciences degree, or an equivalent previous qualification (Act 272/2005 and Regulation 608/2005). Recognition of foreign qualifications by the Finnish National Agency for Education also fulfills the qualification requirement. Additionally, good oral and written skills in Finnish and a criminal background check for working with children (Act 504/2002) are required. A tuberculosis screening for those working with preschool children will be checked (Infectious Diseases Act a7 55). We will consider applicants who meet the qualification criteria as well as those with relevant work experience, students nearing graduation, and applicants without a recognition decision from the Finnish National Agency for Education. The selected candidate must provide a medical certificate of health and a criminal record extract as per the law on background checks for working with children (Section 6).
