Chief Physician, Kalasatama Health Center - Helsingin kaupunki - Helsinki, Finland

Kalasataman health center offers a unique opportunity to participate in the development of future primary health care in the heart of Helsinki. The chief physician position will be available as one of our chief physicians transitions to new roles within the unit. The center operates as part of the Kalasatama health and well-being center, where multidisciplinary collaboration is central. We focus strongly on developing the personal doctor model and strengthening continuity of care, with the health center being an active pioneer. As a chief physician, you will have the opportunity to work in our evolving health center operations, where patient care continuity, multidisciplinary cooperation, and meaningful medical work go hand in hand. You will receive good support from the Kalasatama management team, which includes three chief physicians and four ward managers. Together, you will lead a unit of about 80 doctors and 100 nurses, responsible for medical leadership and frontline management with your colleagues. A broad multidisciplinary network operates under the same roof, enabling smooth cooperation across professions. Requirements include being a licensed doctor in Finland with specialist rights in a relevant field and sufficient experience in management and leadership roles. Excellent Finnish and satisfactory Swedish oral and written skills are required. The appointee must provide an occupational health assessment of their ability to perform the duties. The role requires vaccination against infectious diseases as per the Infectious Diseases Act sections 48 and 55, and prior tuberculosis screening. Previous leadership experience and experience in primary health care are considered an advantage.
