Full-time Substitute Teacher with Special Education Responsibilities - Loviisan kaupunki - Loviisa, Finland

Loviisa is a charming maritime bilingual city characterized by small-town idylls and picturesque lively villages. The pearl of the eastern coast, maritime Loviisa, is located less than an hour east of Helsinki. Koskenkylä School is a relatively new wooden school in Koskenkylä, Loviisa. The school has approximately 80 students in grades 1-6, and 17 students in the preschool attached to the school for the upcoming school year. There are six teachers in our single-grade school, supported by a visiting special education teacher three days a week. The school center shares its teaching and staff facilities with the Swedish-speaking Forsby School, where approximately 200 children study. We are seeking a full-time substitute teacher with responsibilities in special education for the period from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027. The role primarily involves providing group-specific support in various classes, including preschool. Additionally, the position includes 5 weekly hours as a second-grade teacher and possibly teaching different subjects from other grades. The weekly workload is 18-20 hours. We value good teamwork skills and experience in co-teaching. Experience with digital learning materials and enthusiasm for active teaching methods are also desired. The role involves joint projects with teachers from other grades and our language partner school. Studies in special education are considered an advantage.
