Job Description
The specialized healthcare unit of physical medicine is seeking an occupational therapist for a fixed-term position, covering maternity leave, in Hämeenlinna from September 22, 2026, to May 11, 2027. We offer an excellent opportunity to work in the new Ahveniston Hospital as a member of a multidisciplinary team. The team is committed to promoting high-quality rehabilitation for clients. The physical medicine unit employs six occupational therapists working in somatic departments of specialized care, as well as in the outpatient clinic and pediatric neurology. Job duties include assessments and rehabilitation for occupational therapy mainly on the acute neurology ward and outpatient clinic, but may also involve work in the neurology rehabilitation ward and occasionally in other departments. You will receive orientation to the tasks. Qualifications include a valid occupational therapist degree. The position is full-time, but part-time work can also be negotiated. We expect good collaboration skills, a development-oriented attitude, resilience under pressure, and flexibility. Previous experience in a hospital environment, rehabilitation unit, or working with neurological clients is considered an advantage. The salary for the position is €2977.75/month. In addition to the base salary, we pay experience-based supplements, which can range from 0% to 8%. The accumulation of vacation days is also based on service time. The working hours are 38.25 hours per week. Applications must be submitted through the Kuntarekry system before the deadline. Interviews will be conducted, and selection may be made during the application period. Salary and other employment terms are governed by the SOTE agreement. The probation period is three months. In direct patient and client work, vaccination against infectious diseases as required by section 48 of the Infectious Diseases Act and a tuberculosis clearance as per section 55 are mandatory.
