Lead Mechanical Designer for Process Industry Projects

Lead mechanical designer for process industry client projects. You will combine your design expertise with management of technical entities and provide technical guidance in design work. You will participate in the design itself and ensure solutions are functional, high quality and manufacturable. You will collaborate with clients, project teams and other designers. Primary work location is our Vantaa office or at clients’ sites in the capital area; hybrid work is possible depending on projects. Responsibilities include designing equipment, machines and structures for process industry projects, developing solutions and ensuring manufacturability, directing and supporting other designers, managing design quality, timelines and technical assemblies, allocating tasks, estimating time, and leading design reviews, preparing and auditing technical documentation and manufacturing drawings, and client collaboration in different design phases. Requirements include a suitable technical university degree (e.g., mechanical engineering or DI), about five years of experience in mechanics, machine or equipment design, experience from process industry or industrial equipment systems, knowledge of manufacturing technologies (welding, machining, sheet metal), CAD/PDM skills (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SolidWorks PDM), good communication and teamwork skills, fluent Finnish and English, and ability to act as technical support to other designers and develop design practices. Salary range between €4,100–€5,200 per month; final salary depends on skills and experience.
