Job Description
Would you like to be part of the world's most interesting continuously learning community and build AI solutions that change people's daily lives? We are seeking a Graduate system designer for a fixed-term position from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2028, to develop and implement AI solutions with real impact on teaching, learning, and staff work. In this role, you will develop AI tailored to Gradia's needs. The work is based on practical everyday challenges and close collaboration with teachers, AI coordinators, experts, and other staff. The goal is not to experiment with AI for its own sake but to build responsible, functional, and genuinely usable solutions. This is a new role at Gradia, and the fixed-term is due to the project-based nature of the work. The AI developer role at Gradia is cross-disciplinary. You will act as a technical expert and developer in AI utilization across the organization and influence how AI use is shaped now and in the future. As a system designer, your tasks include: - Taking AI solutions from idea to pilot and controlled deployment across Gradia, - Developing teaching, guidance, and support services using AI, automation, and analytics, - Implementing pedagogical AI solutions in close cooperation with teachers, - Identifying AI opportunities with staff, AI coordinators, and other experts, and turning them into practical solutions, - Ensuring security, data protection, and compliance with EU AI regulations in implementations, - Participating in the overall AI development efforts at Gradia with various expert groups. To succeed in this role, we require: - Experience in developing and deploying AI solutions in practical environments, - Understanding of data management, data protection, and security, - Experience in software development or programming skills, - Ability to connect technical solutions to operational and daily processes, - Agile working style, problem-solving skills, and good collaboration and communication skills, - Fluent Finnish and good English language skills, - Appropriate higher education degree. Salary and employment terms are based on the municipal collective agreement (KVTES). The starting monthly salary is €4,118.99, with a possible additional up to 8% based on relevant experience. There is also an opportunity for up to 10% personal allowance. The position follows a 36.25-hour workweek. There is a six-month probation period. In the first phase of recruitment, selected applicants will be asked to complete a light AI development task, after which the most suitable candidates will be invited for interviews in week 26. Salary Details
