School Attendance Supervisor, Paulaharju School - Oulun kaupunki - Oulu, Finland

A fixed-term position as a school attendance supervisor is available at Paulaharju School from August 10, 2026, to January 31, 2027. The position is part-time (32 hours/week). The role involves duties as a school attendance supervisor in a special class with students requiring individual support due to specific educational or school-related needs. These students may have emotional, adaptation, or life management challenges, sensory sensitivities, autism, or other neuropsychiatric difficulties. Responsibilities include guiding children and young people and supporting their functional skills. The role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating support and guidance activities in collaboration with teachers, student welfare staff, other school personnel, guardians, and various cooperation networks. Qualifications include a vocational qualification in school attendance and morning and afternoon activity guidance, a practical nurse qualification with a focus on children and youth, or other suitable professional qualifications that include pedagogical or educational studies. Experience working in a special class and with children with neuropsychiatric difficulties is required. Completion of the MAPA fundamentals training is an advantage. The salary for the school attendance supervisor position is based on the job-specific pay system and levels of competence and responsibility, ranging from €2,341.57 to €2,460.00. The actual salary consists of a job-specific salary and possible other levels according to the Collective Agreement for Municipal Employees (KVTES). Before starting, the selected candidate must present a criminal record extract related to working with children, as required by law (504/2002, section 3). The position includes a trial period.
