Job Description
We are seeking a development-oriented and enthusiastic school principal for the Finnish-language basic education unit who wants to be involved in building an inspiring school community — one where learning, collaboration, and student-centered activities are central. Friisilä School is located in the Matinkylä-Olari area in a natural environment, in a quiet residential neighborhood. The school has good transportation connections. Friisilä School is a small, single-grade school with approximately 140 students. In the Matinkylä-Olari and Tapiola areas, over 9,500 students attend 20 schools. The regional cooperation among principals is impactful, and meetings of the principals' groups are collaborative. All new principals in Espoo participate in a comprehensive orientation organized by the Education Sector. The regional manager acts as the supervisor for the principals. Your tasks: Your responsibilities include classroom teaching as well as the duties of the school principal at Friisilä School. As a principal, you will oversee the school's management according to our strategy and promote high-quality teaching and community spirit. Collaboration is a key part of your role — you will work closely and actively engage in discussions with other principals, the leadership of basic education, parents, and other stakeholders in the region. The school principal is an important team member, working alongside colleagues, the leadership team, and the entire school staff to achieve common goals. You will be responsible for leading the work community, pedagogical leadership, and school financial management. A professional staff and leadership team will support you in your work. We will consider all applications received during the application period. We may process applications and conduct interviews during the application period. The final selection will be made after the application period ends and interviews are completed. School name and address: Friisilä School, Holmanniitynkuja 10, 02240 Espoo.
