Full-time Subject Teacher - Äänekosken kaupunki - Äänekoski, Finland

The Education Services of the City of Äänekoski are seeking a permanent full-time subject teacher for basic education and high school starting from August 1, 2026. The subject to be taught is crafts, soft materials. Teaching will take place at two different locations: Koulunmäki Comprehensive School and Suolahti Comprehensive School. The initial placement is at Koulunmäki Comprehensive School. We hope applicants will have a development-oriented, versatile approach and ICT skills. A qualification as an English or Swedish language teacher is considered an advantage. Large work communities require good interpersonal skills, initiative, courage, and flexibility from school staff to adapt to changing daily situations. Koulunmäki Comprehensive School has approximately 830 students, and Suolahti Comprehensive School has approximately 560 students, both of which have been significantly renewed in recent years. We offer a versatile learning environment amidst good sports facilities and an e-pass benefit for staff. Eligibility for the position is determined according to the decree on the qualifications of education personnel (986/98). The selected candidate must present an acceptable medical certificate of health and a criminal record extract as defined by law 504/2002 before the appointment is confirmed. A probationary period applies. Interviews will be conducted in week 25. Original certificates proving qualifications and work experience must be presented during the interview.
