Registered Nurse, Youth Substance Abuse Prevention Project, Espoo and Lohja - Länsi-Uudenmaan hyvinvointialue

In your work, you will primarily encounter under 18-year-old youths with substance use and concurrent mental health symptoms. The primary target group is youths placed in child protection, but during the project period, activities may be expanded to other groups. The role is diverse. You will work with youths both outpatient and by visiting their environments. You will also collaborate closely with child protection workers and other networks. We believe that the best results are achieved through genuine multidisciplinary cooperation. The Youth Substance Abuse Prevention Project is funded by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, aiming to strengthen services for minors showing signs of substance use in the Western Uusimaa region. The project employs project workers, a project manager, a doctor, a therapy coordinator, and now recruiting nurses. You will not work alone; in addition to the project team, you will have support from mental health and substance abuse professionals. We are looking for an active, enthusiastic, and motivated nurse with a solution-oriented approach and the ability to operate in incomplete and changing situations. Work locations and addresses: Komentajankatu 5 A, 3rd floor, 02600 Espoo Merikansantie 4 A, 2nd floor, 02320 Espoo Kauppakatu 5-9, 08100 Lohja One of the positions is located in Lohja and the other in Espoo. The work also involves outreach activities in all municipalities of the Western Uusimaa region. Working hours: 37 hours 45 minutes per week The position is fixed-term from August 3, 2026, to June 30, 2027. Suitable education for the role: Licensed nurse Requirements for applicants: - Licensed nurse qualification - Valid medication dispensing license (LOVe license) or willingness to obtain it within three months of starting employment - Knowledge of the 'Therapies at the Frontline' model - Training in cognitive brief therapy - Good communication and collaboration skills - Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team - Ability to make independent decisions and organize own work - Driving license and access to a personal vehicle Additionally, we value enthusiasm and willingness to learn new things. We appreciate an active work attitude, readiness to use digital methods, and previous experience in mental health and substance abuse work. Skills and experience in wound care are considered an advantage. The role also requires vaccination against infectious diseases as per the Infectious Diseases Act §48 and a health statement regarding tuberculosis as per §55.
