Job Description
Loviisa is a charming maritime bilingual city characterized by small-town idyll. The municipality's 12 primary schools and two high schools employ approximately 150 teachers and 50 school assistants. Would you like to work as a school assistant at Harjurinne School in Loviisa? We are seeking school assistants for fixed-term positions in special classes and classes providing intensive support (instruction organized by activity areas). The employment begins in August 2026. Fixed-term contracts are agreed upon for the school year's working days. The minimum weekly working hours are 25 hours/week. Loviisa is a child-friendly municipality that emphasizes student well-being and support for schooling. The qualification requirement is a vocational qualification as a school assistant or other comparable education in accordance with Loviisa city's regulations. The employment can be linked to apprenticeship training if needed. We value a child-centered approach, flexibility, and good interaction skills. Work experience with children and youth is appreciated. Experience with children with special needs and alternative communication methods is considered an advantage. Interviews will be held in week 32. The selected candidate must, no later than two weeks after starting work, present an acceptable medical certificate of health and, before taking up the position, a criminal record extract in accordance with the Act on Background Checks for Persons Working with Children (504/2002).
