Helsinki's child welfare client emergency service is responsible for the urgent, emergency help of children who are clients of child welfare during office hours. Our tasks include clarifying emergency situations, and we are also partly responsible for the child welfare telephone emergency service. In its current form, the child welfare client emergency service has operated since the beginning of 2024. Our team has ten social workers and a leading social worker. Working practices have already been refined in the everyday life of the emergency service, but there is also room for new development. Eligibility requirement: Eligibility is the qualification of a social worker according to Section 7 of the Act on Social Care Professionals 817/2015 and registration in the professional register of the License and Supervision Authority. Language skill requirement is good oral and written skill in Finnish and satisfactory oral skill in Swedish. Vaccination protection according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act is required in the position. The selected person must present an occupational health care assessment of their ability to perform the duties belonging to the office. A criminal record extract is required (Act on the investigation of the criminal background of persons working with children 504/2002). In the absence of applicants meeting the eligibility requirements, the position may be filled temporarily for a maximum of one year by: • a person studying for the profession of social worker who has successfully completed the basic and core studies in social work and practical training or • a person who has completed such a suitable university degree in the field of social sciences or a university of applied sciences degree in the field of social and health care, which included or in addition to which the basic and core studies in social work and practical training have been successfully completed or • a person who, in addition to a suitable university degree in the field of social sciences or a university of applied sciences degree in the field of social and health care and basic and core studies in social work, has sufficient practical experience and professional skill. In addition, we require knowledge of child welfare and emergency work, as well as interaction and documentation skills. A B-class driver's license is considered an advantage. Due to the anticipation of service needs from the legislative reform of social care and child welfare, all open positions for social workers will be filled as fixed-term until June 30, 2027.
