Job Description
Join us as a researcher in built cultural environments at Hämeenlinna City Museum. We have a fixed-term position available for 2-3 months starting from 1.9.2026 or according to agreement. The researcher will be responsible for manually entering inventory data of built cultural environments in the Kanta-Häme region into the museum's cultural environment database (TUPA) and organizing the data according to the data model. Inventory data for the Forssa area will be updated as needed, including site visits and valuation work in collaboration with the steering group. Additionally, the researcher will participate in drafting storage instructions for the database. The position requires a suitable higher university degree or advanced studies, for example in art history, architecture, or cultural environment research. Knowledge of built cultural environments, inventory methods, basic IT skills, a B driving license, and access to a car are necessary. Prior experience with building inventories, cultural environment surveys, and digitization of inventory data is considered an advantage. We value independence, organization, and good collaboration and interaction skills. We offer flexible working arrangements that support work-life balance. You will have the opportunity to utilize and develop your expertise in built cultural environments alongside other professionals and take responsibility for project implementation. Your closest colleagues will include a building researcher, a restoration specialist, and the museum's regional team. Hämeenlinna values diversity in its work community and promotes equality.
