Job Description
The early childhood education services of the City of Salo are seeking an early childhood education social pedagogue for the period from August 3, 2026, to December 19, 2026. The social pedagogue in early childhood education is responsible for the well-being, sense of community, and participation of the children, as well as multidisciplinary network cooperation during early childhood education and collaboration during transition phases related to the child's and family's well-being. We emphasize good leadership. The City of Salo is a smoke-free workplace. The main tasks of the early childhood education social pedagogue involve children's upbringing tasks. The role also includes coordinating services for children and families, collaborating with families, and multidisciplinary cooperation. The qualification requirement for the position is at least the qualification according to the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018). The social pedagogue is expected to be familiar with legislation guiding early childhood education, national and municipal early childhood education plans, and pre-primary education plans, as well as social pedagogical skills. Good written and oral Finnish language skills are required. Experience in early childhood education is considered an advantage. We value good cooperation and interaction skills. The salary level is €2,953.13 per month. In addition to the salary level, experience-based additional pay may be granted according to the collective agreement. Before starting employment, the selected candidate must present an acceptable health certificate and a criminal record extract related to working with children, as required by law (504/2002). Additionally, a tuberculosis screening is required (Communicable Diseases Act § 55). The law obligates those working with preschool children to assess the risk of tuberculosis transmission before employment. The trial period is half the duration of the fixed-term employment, provided that the conditions of the collective agreement are met.
