Job Description

Sweco is seeking an experienced reinforcement for the role of public transport expert and project manager in their City and Transport unit in Helsinki, Turku, or Tampere (other Sweco locations are also possible). You will work in the Sustainable Mobility team, which consists of professionals in sustainable urban transport. The team's expertise covers pedestrian traffic, cycling, micro-mobility, public transport, traffic safety, traffic calming, mobility management, and traffic control and signage planning. We are primarily looking for a public transport expert with experience specifically in bus traffic planning. We seek a professional for strategic-level public transport reports and plans, including line plans, service level definitions, organization method reports, public transport development reports, etc. We also value experience in more detailed route and schedule planning. We require that you have played a significant role in public transport projects, e.g., as a lead designer or project manager. In addition to public transport expert tasks, your duties include project management, sparring with younger designers, as well as client, sales, and tendering work. We operate in diverse and various-sized report and design tasks across Finland. Significant ongoing projects currently include the tram projects in Turku, Tampere, and the capital region, where sustainable urban transport is being developed more broadly. Our expertise covers all design phases from strategic and preliminary design to construction design. Seamless cooperation and our flat organization ensure success in every project. We work according to a hybrid work model, flexibly combining remote and office work. Join our good-spirited and professional crew! Keys to success in the position: We require from you: a university degree, at least 10 years of experience in the public transport sector, evidence of strategic-level public transport reports and plans, good project management and leadership skills, excellent cooperation and interaction skills, a proactive approach to work, and readiness for client and tendering work. Previous experience in project manager roles is a prerequisite for success in the position. Above all, we expect an enthusiastic and innovative approach and a customer-service mindset. We have a top-notch crew and are looking for a team player who collaborates naturally. Please get in touch if you recognize yourself in this description! What we promise you: A curious, brave, and encouraging Sweco crew. You are part of an uncomplicated and enthusiastic community where immediacy and respect for each other are emphasized. We support, value, and encourage each other. High-quality supervisory work is one of our strengths. Transforming society together. At Sweco, you are involved in creating the cities of the future and a more sustainable society. You are in an important role promoting and enabling business where a more sustainable and functional society is concretely built in daily work at thousands of design tables and construction sites across Finland. International projects locally. We often work in projects in cooperation with international clients and partners. There are a total of 23,000 Sweco employees across Europe, and in Finland, we have 3,300 people in 28 locations. The international organization offers opportunities to work with European colleagues if desired – or to change office in Finland according to your life situation. Your own career path and training opportunities. It is important to us that you can develop and plan your own career path, and we listen to you in this. Diverse training opportunities are offered by our own Sweco Academy, and you develop in practical projects together with the industry's top experts. A versatile and comprehensive personnel benefit package, the content of which you can influence yourself. As an employer, we are flexible, and the sustainable balancing of your work and private life is a priority for us. We work where it makes the most sense – and we are happy to meet each other at the office. Further information and application: Further information about the position is provided by team manager Mikko Raninen (Helsinki) tel. 0408675912 or public transport expert Annakaisa Lehtinen (Turku) tel. 0408676694.
