Job Description
We are seeking a psychologist for a fixed-term position (August 1, 2026 - August 22, 2027) in the Families' Services, within the Families and Youth Mental Wellbeing team in Alajärvi. We offer a diverse and development-oriented psychologist role, supported by a skilled, multidisciplinary, enthusiastic, and caring work community. The Alajärvi unit employs 3 psychologists, 2 family counselors, a social worker-family therapist, and 2 psychiatric nurses. Additionally, you will be part of the entire wellbeing area's Families and Youth Mental Wellbeing services. The role also involves work at the Ähtäri unit. Our goal is to utilize staff expertise in the best possible way. The psychologist's duties include social welfare law-based parenting and family counseling, as well as healthcare tasks (basic research and mental health work for children and youth). There are also functional, multidisciplinary consultation practices with specialized pediatric psychiatry. Flexible working hours and a multidisciplinary team support work planning and well-being. We also offer opportunities for regular supervision and training. The qualification requirement is a licensed psychologist (Act 559/1994). Applicants in the final stages of their studies will also be considered. Terms of employment and salary are determined according to the SOTE agreement, with a task-specific salary of €4592/month at the start of employment. A probationary period applies to the employment. A criminal background check under law 504/2002 must be presented before accepting the fixed-term position. HYVAEP is a smoke-free workplace.
