Job Description
Gasgrid is the network operator responsible for gas transmission in Finland and the builder of the national hydrogen network. We allow you to promote the energy transition taking place in Finland and worldwide as well as the future carbon-neutral energy and raw material system. Our company is growing rapidly and significant hydrogen projects, the development of a multi-gas platform and Finland's first floating LNG terminal offer great opportunities to develop and learn new things. We are looking for a permanent position in our growing unit: Senior Project Manager, infrastructure projects. As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a key role in the technical delivery phase of Gasgrid's strategically important and large-scale infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for managing demanding project entities from design to complete implementation and ensure that projects proceed purposefully, safely and in accordance with Gasgrid's strategy. In practice, you will lead the preparation, design and implementation of gas infrastructure construction as part of a nationally significant gas transmission system. The role offers an exceptional opportunity to be involved in building new energy infrastructure that links to large international projects and the promotion of Finland's carbon-neutral future. Success requires a strong project management approach, the ability to manage large entities and the skill to reconcile the goals of different stakeholders. You will not work alone: you are supported by Gasgrid's experienced project implementation expert group in the areas of design, procurement, permitting, land use, safety and management. Main tasks: - Lead designated, large infrastructure projects from a technical delivery phase perspective with a strong, clear and predictable project management approach. - Responsible for the organization, preparation, technical and operational management and reporting of project entities in accordance with Gasgrid's project processes. - Overall responsibility for ensuring that projects achieve the goals, scope, schedule and budget agreed with the business. - Work in close cooperation with internal and external stakeholders, business, project groups and steering groups and ensure common progress towards agreed results. - Participate in the development of project activities and development projects supporting the company's overall strategy. What experience do we hope for from you? - Strong evidence of successful management of large infrastructure projects from design to implementation and at least about 10 years of experience in demanding project manager or project director positions. - Experience especially in large pipe, cable or corridor-type projects where permitting, land use and the coordination of several administrative organizations play a central role. - Versatile expertise in different phases of the project life cycle, such as preliminary studies, design, procurement and construction. Experience in public procurement is considered an advantage. - Enthusiasm for learning about gas technology, the construction of a new type of hydrogen infrastructure and the development of construction models. - Fluent oral and written skills in Finnish and English. - Initiative, an independent and efficient way of working and good prioritization skills. - Ability for long-term thinking at a strategic level and management of large entities. - Excellent cooperation and interaction skills. - A technical educational background suitable for the position. In the position, you report to the head of the project unit, and your place of work is Espoo or Kouvola. The job description allows for flexible hybrid work, and we hope to meet at our site face-to-face 2-3 days a week. The job requires some travel domestically and possibly also internationally according to the needs of the projects. You will enjoy being with us if you value: - High employee satisfaction and a willingness to recommend us as a workplace. - Truly meaningful work – we have a rare opportunity to solve future energy needs that, when implemented, create competitiveness and jobs in Finland and push Finland towards carbon neutrality. - A bold and open corporate culture – we value everyone's contribution and view and work a lot for open communication. We stand behind our values "we act together", "we take our responsibility" and "we build the future". - Professional and nice colleagues. - In addition to a competitive salary and bonus system, we offer you e.g. lunch and recreation benefits (400 e/year), extensive occupational health care and the possibility to join the Enerkemi health insurance fund. We also support the development of staff and actively develop our staff's well-being. We work flexibly in a hybrid model. Other information: - Our role as a builder of a multi-gas platform and hydrogen network is significant and influential, but at the same time we are still building something new. Therefore, we hope for courage, a desire to develop and develop, and commitment to be with us in creating solutions that have a positive impact on the future of the whole of Finland. - Application deadline: August 2, 2026. - The position is a role referred to in the Security Clearance Act (726/2014), for which a certificate/statement of an approved security clearance is one of the requirements for filling the position. A health check, including drug testing, will be performed for the selected person.
