Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Operations Engineer to lead and drive the development, implementation, and optimisation of software, automation, and industrial control systems within the energy storage sector. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of energy storage technologies, combined with expertise in software engineering, automation, and control systems to innovate and improve our solutions. This is a senior technical role where you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver state-of-the-art applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability in energy storage operations. The role can be based in Finland (preferably Vaasa) or the UK.

Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in engineering roles, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership position within energy storage, renewable energy, or industrial control systems sector
- Proven experience in software development for industrial applications, with a strong background in control systems, automation, and software integration
- Extensive experience with SCADA, PLCs, HMI, DCS, and other industrial control systems
- Strong knowledge of energy storage technologies (e.g., lithium-ion batteries, flow batteries, etc.) and energy management systems
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, Java, or similar
- Expertise in industrial automation platforms (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, ABB, Rockwell)
- Familiarity with data analytics, cloud computing, and AI/ML for predictive maintenance and optimization of energy systems
- Understanding of communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, MQTT, and REST APIs
- Solid knowledge of cybersecurity practices for industrial control systems and software
