The social counselor's duties include advising, guiding, and providing psychosocial support to clients in various life situations. The work is planned and goal-oriented with clients. The counselor helps clients find and utilize necessary support networks. They are present flexibly where clients need assistance. The work involves multidisciplinary networking and decision-making regarding social services and supplementary/preventive income support. The counselor works with a social rehabilitation approach, using individual and group methods to support clients' daily life and financial management. Adult social work is active in developing services. We have developed social rehabilitation, supported housing services based on the 'Housing First' principle, structural social work, and community social work. Our services include social lending, interim renting, and brokerage services. We offer opportunities to learn and develop skills. In Kajaani, adult social work involves developing citizen-centered social services and promoting well-being and health through structural social work. We provide comprehensive internal training, group supervision, and two well-being afternoons per year. We follow flexible working hours suitable for home and work life in the Kainuu region. Remote work is also possible. The adult social work includes an onboarding plan and detailed work instructions. We value proactive and flexible working attitudes, good organizational skills, strong communication skills, and a constructive and positive approach. Experience working with people in difficult life situations and knowledge of social rehabilitation methods are appreciated. The qualification requirement for a social counselor is a degree in social services (AMK) in accordance with the Social Welfare Professionals Act 817/2015 (Sections 8 and 32), considering transitional provisions. The job requires mobility, so a driver’s license is necessary, and the use of a personal car is required if needed. Applications are accepted via Kuntarekry. The trial period is 6 months.
