Job Description
We are now looking for a R&D Engineer, Systems. This is a permanent full-time role where you'll take technical responsibility for advanced gas measurement systems. You will combine hands-on engineering work with system-level ownership, contributing directly to integration, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous product improvements while ensuring alignment across multiple engineering disciplines. As a R&D Engineer at Gasmet, your work will be hands-on, varied, and impactful. You will become the primary technical contact for your product area and build deep expertise in gas measurement technology and system architecture. Work hands-on with prototypes, test setups, system integration, and verification in our own laboratory. Take responsibility for the overall functionality of continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS). Collaborate with specialists from optics, electronics, chemistry, mechanics, automation, software, and IoT. Support production and other departments throughout the product lifecycle. In this role, you will provide system-level ownership for a product family. You will work closely with specialists from multiple engineering disciplines and project managers, helping ensure that development activities support the long-term success of the product. Take technical ownership of assigned product families and ensure successful product development and lifecycle management. Ensure system-level alignment across electronics, mechanics, software, optics and analytics disciplines. Assemble, integrate, test, and troubleshoot complete measurement systems and subsystems. Drive product improvements, upgrades, technical problem solving, and design changes throughout the product lifecycle. Ensure products meet customer, quality, regulatory, and company requirements. Work closely with production, sourcing, service, quality, and product management teams. Create and maintain product documentation and technical guidance materials. What helps you succeed here: Background in electrical engineering, automation engineering, mechatronics, or another relevant technical field with demonstrated experience in system-level responsibility (BSc/MSc or equivalent hands-on experience). Strong electrical engineering understanding is particularly valuable in this role. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and wiring diagrams is essential. Comfortable working with system-level electrical documentation (for example power distribution, I/O, and interconnections). Ability to coordinate technical activities and collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines. Experience with complex technical systems and an interest in taking system-level technical responsibility. Ability to balance hands-on engineering work with long-term technical planning and prioritization. Willingness to collaborate, communicate and coordinate clearly with different teams. Comfortable working in English, both spoken and written. Openness to occasional travel. And if you bring any of these, that's a great bonus: Finnish Electrical Qualification S2, familiarity with measurement equipment, instrumentation, or laboratory work, electronics knowledge beyond the system level — such as PCB design, component-level troubleshooting, or detailed schematics, background in device or mechanical manufacturing, technical hobbies or projects you're proud of. We offer you: You will have a key role in shaping the future of one of Gasmet's industrial measurement platforms and influencing its long-term technical direction. Role in a friendly, mid-size team where everybody knows each other and locates under the same roof. Permanent full-time work in international and inspiring work environment. Flexible working hours with dynamic and skilled colleagues in a growing company. Modern work environment in Vantaa Piispankylä.
