Counselor (Nurse), Youth Home Satama - Humana arjessa Oy - Helsinki, Finland

Humana is seeking a nurse-trained counselor for a full-time position at Youth Home Satama in Helsinki. The work involves three shifts. Join us in meaningful work with young people as part of a strong and supportive team. As a counselor, you will work alongside a senior nurse and be a member of our multidisciplinary team. You will incorporate your nursing expertise into daily educational and rehabilitative work. Your responsibilities include monitoring youth health and well-being, administering and assessing medication, and collaborating on health care. The role also involves acting as a primary caregiver. You will utilize your nursing skills holistically, combining care, interaction, and child protection expertise to support the individual rehabilitation of each young person. We are looking for someone who genuinely connects with young people, strives to understand the person behind the challenges, and builds daily life with them where participation, respect, and being heard are central. You will support youth in practicing basic and emotional skills, motivate them towards a crime-free life, and enable their active participation in daily decisions. The work emphasizes relationship-based primary caregiving, where you meet the young person individually and goal-oriented, build a resilient and trusting relationship, and walk alongside them towards a safer and more balanced daily life. We work with a systemic approach, understanding the child's situation as part of their networks and relationships. We collaborate closely with families, schools, and other actors to ensure continuous and coherent support. Our work utilizes trauma-informed and relationship-based methods, including DKT techniques, for which we provide training. You will not work alone but will be supported by a skilled and committed team that shares responsibilities, expertise, and successes, with open communication and supervision fostering well-being and professional growth.
