Job Description
Part-time project specialist for the Kainuu GEMS (Game Entrepreneurship Mentoring to Success) project. Kajaanin Yrkeshögskola is seeking a part-time (30-35%) project specialist to support the project manager in managing the Kainuu GEMS project. The goal of the project is to create a sustainable pathway for developing entrepreneurial skills in the gaming industry in Kainuu, leading to the creation of new gaming companies. The gaming industry is growing and international. The global revenue from digital games is forecasted to reach 187 billion euros in 2024. Finland is known as a pioneer in the gaming industry, especially mobile games, and the Finnish gaming industry has grown significantly over the past decade. Kajaani hosts several successful gaming companies, such as Kitka Games, CSE Entertainment, Critical Force, and Blacksmoke Studios. The Kainuu GEMS project is a significant initiative with a funding of €1.25 million, aiming to establish new hit game companies in Kajaani. The project targets students in game development at Kajaani University of Applied Sciences, early-stage game teams, new entrepreneurs in the gaming industry, and individuals interested in game entrepreneurship. The project started in August 2024 and will continue until the end of 2027. Responsibilities of the project specialist include: - Preparing and maintaining project reporting and documentation. - Documenting project activities, participant data, events, training sessions, travel, and other project tasks. - Supporting the project manager in internal administrative, financial, and reporting processes at KAMK. - Communicating with KAMK’s project management, financial experts, and other support services. - Monitoring de minimis aid, participant documents, attachments, and other materials required by the funder. - Administrative support for procurement, invoicing, and service purchases. - Coordinating travel, meetings, and event arrangements. - Maintaining meeting minutes, decisions, task lists, and follow-up materials. - Organizing and archiving project materials for reporting, audits, and the GEMS Playbook.
