Job Description
We are seeking a practical nurse for a fixed-term position at the Fransunpuisto residential unit for people with disabilities in Kauhava from September 9, 2026, to May 31, 2027. Fransunpuisto provides 24-hour accommodation for 14 residents with intellectual disabilities. The unit also offers short-term stays. Our goal is to provide residents with a safe and active daily life. An important part of our operations is good care and support for residents, customer orientation, individuality, and promoting residents' self-determination and participation. The resident is at the center of our activities. We are looking for a practical nurse to do meaningful and valuable work with people with disabilities. As a practical nurse, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth daily routines for residents, assisting and guiding them in their daily activities, and supporting their participation. We offer diverse work where you can utilize your strengths. We expect good cooperation and communication skills, a positive and conscientious attitude towards work, and a desire to provide high-quality, customer-oriented work. Flexibility, initiative, and creativity are valued. The practical nurse work involves three-shift work. Qualifications include a basic degree in social and health care, a practical nurse qualification (according to law 559/1994 or 817/2015). Registration with the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health (Valvira) as a protected professional, a valid LOVe medication authorization, hygiene passport, and good Finnish language skills are required. Employment terms and salary are based on the SOTE agreement, with a task-specific salary of €2,644.50 per month at the start of employment. A probationary period applies. A certificate of health and a criminal background check according to law (741/2023) § 28 must be presented before accepting the fixed-term position. A drug test may be required. HYVAEP is a nicotine-free workplace. The position requires vaccination protection under the Infectious Diseases Act § 48 and a tuberculosis certificate under § 55.
