Job Description
The work of a social worker is based on investigating and assessing social situations. The starting point is a comprehensive view of the connections between illness and social factors. The purpose of the task is to ensure that patients receive statutory and adequate social services requiring specialized social work expertise. Key duties of a social worker include psychosocial patient work and support, guidance, counseling and coordination related to social security and livelihood, and social work as part of mental state examinations. The social worker works with patients and their relatives, in multidisciplinary teams, and within authority networks.
