The behavior of children with serious symptoms is based on reasons that are taken into account in their care and education. We work closely with other authorities and stakeholders and participate in societal influence. The work is demanding, but difficult situations are managed together. The State School Homes are the national service provider for demanding residential care and demanding special support basic education. The operation of the state school homes is regulated by law under the Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) concerning child protection units (1379/2010). THL and the Ministry of Education are responsible for the results-based management of the school home operations and education provided in the homes. We are now looking for a social worker or nurse to join our team as a team leader. We are currently recruiting three team leaders for units providing both special care and demanding care. The team leader is the immediate supervisor of the residential unit and is responsible for planning, organizing, and evaluating the daily operations of the unit in cooperation with other staff members. They are responsible for keeping schedules, documentation, and communication. They participate in scheduled meetings, represent the unit, and collaborate with networks. The team leader also participates in financial management and monitoring. Financial tasks may include managing payments for children and parents, tracking expenses, making approved purchases, and checking credit card statements. In cooperation with the responsible supervisor and other team leaders, the team leader plans staffing solutions according to the needs of the units. They are involved in personnel matters, such as monitoring the work atmosphere, conducting development and evaluation discussions, onboarding new employees, and supervising interns. Together with the multidisciplinary team, the team leader leads, guides, and supports the care and educational work of the unit. The team leader promotes the achievement of care and educational goals and monitors the implementation of care and educational processes.
