The role of the General Accountant involves managing and preparing local statutory audit files and financial reports for the German subsidiaries of Avery Dennison. Responsibilities include ensuring robust reconciliation between US GAAP and Local GAAP, maintaining excellent relationships with external auditors and local tax authorities, supporting tax calculations and pension forecasts within the Shared Service Center, and preparing annual financial statements with notes and management reports. The position is based in Gotha with the option for remote work (1-2 days per week). Requirements include fluent German and English, qualified accountant status with experience in German financial reporting and statutory audits, knowledge of German tax law, and experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
