Job Description
We are currently looking for home care assistants in our Lahti team, especially in the Vääksy area, to provide respite care for family caregivers. The work is done with great compassion, but it can be demanding, and family caregivers also need breaks from their duties. Your work will support caregivers' well-being and cover their statutory leave periods. We are seeking energetic individuals to provide respite care for both under 18 and over 18 family members. The work is on a casual basis, and your clients are families with children or young people and their parents, as well as adults of various ages. Depending on your skills and experience, clients may also include individuals with developmental disabilities or other special needs. However, we do not assign you to just anyone; YOU CAN CHOOSE YOUR CLIENT based on your expertise. Family clients may involve single shifts lasting from a few hours to several months. Typically, a shift lasts 2-4 hours, 1-2 times per week. The work is available on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., and on Saturdays between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., with a current focus on afternoon shifts. The work mainly takes place in the clients' homes or in environments such as outdoor activities or shopping trips. We value initiative, good communication skills, and genuine engagement with families. We hope you have professional experience working with families, children, the elderly, individuals with disabilities, or other clients with special needs. We also provide comprehensive training for your work. The position requires a criminal background check. The selected candidate must have at least one reference from previous employment working with children, and registration with the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health (Valvira) is required.
