The role involves teaching and research focused on control theory, control engineering, and automation design for machines and industrial processes. The teaching takes place in modern university facilities supporting small group work and technology-enhanced methods, utilizing digital platforms like Moodle. The lecturer will teach at Tampere University's Hervanta campus, with opportunities for participation in teaching management and development, supervision of theses, and research in automation engineering. Key tasks include designing, developing, and teaching courses, developing digital learning materials, supervising projects and theses, and conducting research related to automation engineering. Requirements include a doctoral degree or master's degree in automation engineering or a related field, good teaching skills, experience with relevant software (e.g., Matlab/Simulink), and the ability to teach in Finnish and English. The role requires good organizational and collaboration skills, fluent Finnish, and at least 10 ECTS credits in university pedagogy or equivalent. The position starts on August 1, 2026, with a six-month probation period. Salary is based on the complexity of tasks and performance, within university salary levels 5–6, with additional performance-based pay.
