Charge Nurse, General Medicine Department 2 Mikkeli - Etelä-Savon hyvinvointialue - Mikkeli, Finland

South Savo Wellbeing Services Eloisa is seeking a charge nurse for a permanent position in the General Medicine Department in Mikkeli starting from 17.8.26 or by agreement. Interviews will begin in week 32. As a charge nurse, you will work in collaboration with the service supervisor and another charge nurse to promote daily unit operations, staff competence, and work well-being. Key responsibilities include coordinating daily staffing, developing nursing practices and implementing changes, as well as onboarding and guiding new employees. You will also participate in planning student supervision. The work includes both administrative and clinical tasks. We are looking for a charge nurse who is committed to their work, adaptable to changing situations, and interested in developing the department’s operations. Experience in department operations, and previous work and development experience as a charge nurse, are considered an advantage. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a previous diploma from a vocational school, as well as licensure according to the Act on Health Care Professionals (559/94). The role requires vaccination against infectious diseases as per section 48 of the Infectious Diseases Act and a health statement regarding respiratory tuberculosis as per section 55.
