We are looking for a Finnish as a Second Language teacher and project coordinator for our Järvenpää campus for a fixed-term position from August 1, 2026, to May 31, 2027. The role includes duties as a Finnish as a Second Language teacher and project coordinator in the "Juurevasti Suomessa" project. The project is a Finnish language and basic skills training aimed at immigrant women who have exceeded the integration period, funded by the Finnish National Agency for Education. The goal is to enhance students' employment prospects and/or everyday participation skills. In this role, you will develop work-oriented and inclusive basic skills teaching, especially Finnish as a Second Language, and implement instruction for a women-only group. As project coordinator, you will ensure that the training is carried out according to the project plan. Your colleague in the project will be a career counselor. Qualifications include a suitable higher education degree, pedagogical studies for teachers, and at least basic and subject studies in Finnish or Finnish as a Second Language. Experience in teaching and guiding immigrants is required. We hope you are cooperative, curious, development-oriented, and genuinely interested in language learning and supporting immigrants in education and employment pathways. Experience in work-oriented language teaching or integration training and project work is considered an advantage. Salary and working conditions are based on the collective agreement for private education sector teaching staff. The employment includes a trial period of up to half of the employment duration.
