Touhula Kalajoki is an art-themed, four-group daycare located in a quiet area in the center of Pohjankylä. We offer early childhood education as well as preschool education. Our art theme is reflected in our daily activities. We support children’s growth, development, and learning through various art forms such as music, crafts, drama, physical activity, and literature. Our facilities are new and spacious. We have our own gym and a versatile outdoor area. We go on weekly excursions in the local environment. The core principles of our activities are child-centeredness and small group activities. Small group work allows staff to utilize their strengths and interests. Our diverse work environment also offers staff the opportunity to develop their creativity and discover their inner artist! Your role as an early childhood education teacher As an early childhood education teacher, you will be the pedagogical leader and inspiring facilitator of your team. You will be responsible for planning your group’s activities and ensuring high-quality processes based on Touhula’s pedagogical annual plan, utilizing Touhula Rytmi. Your core tasks include: - Pedagogical leadership: overseeing daily pedagogy, small group activities, and creating diverse and safe learning environments. - Individual support: planning and assessing support measures for children in collaboration with multidisciplinary networks. - Customer experience: ensuring high-quality communication with families and fostering a positive atmosphere. - Team support: developing an inclusive feedback culture and supporting colleagues by leveraging team strengths. The final salary will depend on years of experience and any special skills that may warrant a personal salary supplement. What we expect from you - Ability to build open and professional communication with all stakeholders - Responsible work attitude and willingness to try new approaches - Valid criminal record certificate and infectious disease clearance - Qualification as an early childhood education teacher according to the Early Childhood Education Act We also consider early childhood education teacher students if needed.
