Job Description
Serve as the master of ceremonies and performer in our legendary program in Levi: Meet Santa and Mrs. Claus in a Secret Hideaway. Workplace and Conditions - Location: Levi Travel Center, Lapland (Scandinavian Travel Group office and Secret Hideaway event venue) - Office language: English - Working hours: Full-time, flexible winter hours (by agreement) - Contract period: 2-month fixed-term employment from 15.11.2026 to 14.1.2027 (possibility to extend until 28.2.2027 by transitioning to guide duties) Responsibilities - Preparation work at the office: gift wrapping, decorating, familiarization with customer background information. - Preparation and closing of the event venue. - Acting as Santa’s elf, welcoming families, and guiding them through the 60-minute program. Requirements - Previous experience as a performer or elf in Lapland is a significant advantage. Salary and Benefits - Type of contract and basis: Fixed-term employment. The fixed-term nature is legally justified by the highly seasonal nature of Lapland’s winter tourism industry. - Base salary and included working hours: - Contract type: Fixed monthly salary. - Monthly base salary: To be discussed during the interview. - Included working hours: The base salary covers an average of 37.54 hours per week. - Additional pay (paid on top of base salary): - Sunday and holiday work: According to Finnish working time law, all hours worked on Sundays or official public holidays are paid at 100% premium (double pay). - Evening and night work: Work during evening and night hours is paid according to the current Service Sector Collective Agreement (Service Sector TES) with hourly supplements. Overtime and working time balancing period Due to the seasonal nature of our work, we apply the Finnish Working Time Act and the Service Sector Collective Agreement’s working time balancing period. Your working hours are balanced over the contract period instead of weekly, allowing flexibility: more hours during the busy winter weeks and fewer during quieter times. - Annual leave and sick pay: - Accumulation of annual leave: 2 days/month in the first year - Sick pay: Full salary for the applicable period in accordance with the Travel Agency Sector TES. - What we offer: - Accommodation: Private room in Levi area can be arranged. Rent is offered at a competitive rate and managed through a separate sublease agreement tied to full calendar months. - Transport: Free use of company cars for commuting between accommodation and Levi office, subject to schedule and vehicle availability. - Connections: Work phone and Finnish SIM card (unlimited domestic calls, messages, and internet). - Work attire: Elf costume and standard equipment including winter outdoor clothing from STG. - Insurance (paid by the company): - Statutory accident insurance during working hours - Additional leisure-time accident insurance - Additional health insurance (details discussed upon signing the employment contract) - Additional benefits: - Ski pass: Access to a shared season pass for Levi slopes. Personal season passes can be arranged at a special price. - Fitness: Personal membership to a local gym in Levi can be arranged. - Lifestyle: Local employee discounts at selected restaurants and shops (515% Levi Pass). - Flexibility: Flexible working hours outside peak season. - Contract duration and early termination: - This offer concerns a fixed-term employment from 15.11.2026 to 14.1.2027. The contract can be extended in the guide role until 28.2.2027. - Probation period: During the 4-week probation, either party can terminate the employment immediately without reason, not on discriminatory grounds. - Early termination of the contract: After the probation, the contract is binding until 14.1.2027.
