Maintenance Engineer - Savopak Oy

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer to be responsible for the maintenance and long-term development of Savopak Oy's production facilities in Varkaus and Rantasalmi. Savopak Oy, established in 1969, is an internationally recognized manufacturer of transport and storage packaging as well as a provider of packaging services. The company produces wooden and plywood-based packaging in four production units—three in Varkaus and one in Rantasalmi. Our customers include the automotive, machinery, electronics, chemical, paper, mining, construction, and defense industries. We supply packaging domestically and to several European countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Spain, and Norway. In this role, you will work on diverse tasks related to maintenance, investments, safety, and production development in collaboration with a skilled team. Your responsibilities: As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance of production equipment and facilities, as well as the development of maintenance activities. Your work will ensure smooth, safe, and efficient production. - Lead and develop maintenance operations - Ensure the functionality of production equipment and machinery - Plan and develop predictive maintenance - Participate in the planning and implementation of investments - Supervise five maintenance employees - Oversee operational monitoring of maintenance and safety issues You will be part of the production team and the extended management team, reporting to the Production Manager. Success in this role requires experience in industrial maintenance and leadership, as well as understanding of production environments and SME operational practices. Knowledge of predictive maintenance, the ability to develop manufacturing methods and equipment, and familiarity with machinery safety requirements are appreciated. You are entrepreneurial, proactive, and results-oriented, capable of driving tasks forward with determination. You have suitable technical education (e.g., technician or engineer), are fluent in Finnish and English, and can collaborate naturally with production and various stakeholders.
