Primary Education Substitute Teacher - Kouvolan kaupunki - Kouvola, Finland

The City of Kouvola is hiring a full-time primary education substitute teacher for the period from August 10, 2026, to June 5, 2027. The position is filled by a person qualified to teach primary education (as per the decree on qualifications for education personnel 986/1998 with subsequent amendments), and the employment period is from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027. The placement is at Eskolanmäki School. Subjects taught: resource instruction. We expect experience in subject teaching, S2 (second language) and special education. Approximately 20 weekly hours. The main focus of teaching is at the lower secondary level. Readiness to work in primary school is considered an advantage. You will collaborate with other teachers to ensure each student receives the support they need. We value willingness and ability to work in a team. In addition to expertise and work experience in the subjects taught, we are looking for a person who is solution-oriented, development-positive, and sees opportunities around them. You should have a desire to share your knowledge with others. Openness to co-teaching and/or parallel teaching is appreciated. Qualifications are determined according to the decree on qualifications for education personnel. A four-month probationary period will be observed when filling the position. Certificates and diplomas must be presented during the possible interview. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract related to working with children and a health certificate within the specified deadline, in accordance with the Act on Background Checks for Persons Working with Children (504/02).
