Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - ReOrbit - Remote - Global

ReOrbit is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in our HQ in Helsinki, Finland. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team this individual will be part of a team leading the full end-to-end lifecycle of the mechanical activities. This is an important position in the company as it will contribute to the direction we take with the development of our mechanical systems. It's an exciting opportunity to be involved from the beginning in projects that are pushing the boundaries of existing space technology. Responsibilities include satellite and launcher requirements analysis, physical architecture trade-off analysis, launch and flight configuration trade-offs, mass budget management, field of view and motion mechanism design & analysis, support for AIT design and implementation, satellite alignment strategy, collaboration with system engineering, supply chain management, feasibility studies, and concurrent engineering activities. Requirements include a minimum of a bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or related field, 5-10 years of relevant space industry experience, knowledge of full lifecycle of space-related mechanical subsystems, data analysis skills, experience with external vendors, and participation in space qualification campaigns.
