Join us to work in the newly renovated premises of Karstula Library! This is a fixed-term position from September 1, 2026, to August 31, 2027. The position is based on a temporary replacement, with the possibility of becoming permanent later. The librarian's daily tasks include versatile customer service, collection work, and material handling, as well as digital guidance for library users, invoice verification, and newspaper procurement. Qualifications for the librarian position include a higher education degree or a vocational qualification, which includes or is supplemented by at least 60 ECTS credits or 35 study weeks of library and information science studies. The role requires flexible customer service skills and readiness to work with different customer groups. Good interaction skills, an active team-oriented approach, and the ability to work independently are valued. Salary and other terms of employment are determined according to the Local Government Collective Agreement (KVTES) Appendix 2. The level salary is 2115.53 €/month according to pay group 2KIR70B1. The working hours are 36.25 hours per week, including evening work and partial solitary work. We can assist with finding accommodation in Karstula. The selected candidate must present an acceptable medical certificate of health within 30 days of receiving the employment decision. The position is subject to a 6-month probationary period.
