Licensed Practical Nurse, Saimaanharju Mikkeli - Etelä-Savon hyvinvointialue - Mikkeli, Finland

South Savo Welfare Area Eloisa is seeking two licensed practical nurses for permanent positions at Saimaanharju Service Center in Mikkeli, starting from October 1, 2026, or according to agreement. Saimaanharju Service Center is located in the Kirkonvarkauden area, about three kilometers from Mikkeli city center. The center provides round-the-clock and communal assisted living services as well as short-term care for the elderly. There are 21 places for 24-hour assisted living. Short-term care has 19 customer places. Clients are typically individuals returning home from a day off from informal care or elderly people transferred from hospital wards for continued care, whose functional capacity and ability to manage at home are assessed during short-term care with the help of multidisciplinary staff. As a licensed practical nurse, you will act as an expert in customer care. Your duties include basic care, ensuring meaningful daily activities, administering medication, and performing nursing tasks. Qualifications include a relevant social and health care vocational qualification or previous professional qualification in the field, and registration with the Professional Register of the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health. Experience in short-term care is an advantage. Proficiency in spoken and written Finnish is also required. The position requires vaccination against infectious diseases as per section 48 of the Infectious Diseases Act and a health statement regarding respiratory tuberculosis as per section 55. The employment relationship includes a six (6) month trial period.
