Community Software Engineer - n8n - Remote - Global

The main goal is to support community-driven development at n8n by reviewing community PRs, vetting community nodes, and improving how external contributions become reliable product improvements. The role involves reviewing community PRs with clear, actionable feedback, guiding contributors through the review process, and helping automate the management of community contributions. The engineer will debug and fix bugs impacting contributors, nodes, or workflow behavior, work with external APIs, SDKs, authentication flows, and node logic to identify root causes, and follow contributions through to resolution. Additionally, the role includes vetting community nodes, making targeted documentation tweaks, and contributing to node enhancements and related engineering tasks. Requirements include proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, debugging skills, knowledge of REST APIs and authentication methods, familiarity with n8n or workflow automation, comfort with CLI and package managers, clear communication, detail orientation, and a collaborative mindset. Nice-to-haves are open-source contribution experience, community-facing technical experience, and startup or developer tooling experience.
