Job Description
Oulu University of Applied Sciences Student Union OSAKO is a statutory advocacy and service organization for students of the university of applied sciences. In addition to advocacy, OSAKO offers various services to students. The student union is managed by a paid board, and five employees work for us. We are now looking for Communication and International Affairs Specialist. The role involves diverse tasks related to communication and international affairs. The specialist is responsible for implementing and developing the student union's communication. Online communication in various forms (e.g., website and social media) is one of their main duties. Additionally, the specialist coordinates services for international students, such as student buddy programs and international events organized by the student union. The specialist collaborates closely with OAMK’s international services, especially regarding exchange student information. The role also includes tasks assigned separately by the board and supervisor, such as customer service and stakeholder engagement. The specialist works in cooperation with the student union’s board and other employees. The position requires excellent proficiency in Finnish and English. Knowledge of website management (WordPress and Elementor), familiarity with communication channels and tools, and experience in organizational and international activities are considered an advantage. The working hours are 37.5 hours per week, and salary is based on the collective agreement for student unions of universities of applied sciences (difficulty level III). The work begins according to agreement. Generally, working hours are during regular office hours, but occasional evening and weekend work may be required. The primary workplace is the student union office at OAMK’s Linnanmaa campus (Yliopistokatu 9, 90570 Oulu). The application deadline is July 5, 2026.
