Job Description
Join us in building smoother travel chains to Kainuu! Kajaanin University of Applied Sciences is seeking a dedicated and motivated project manager for a fixed-term position from August 1, 2026, to February 29, 2028, to develop internal accessibility in the Kainuu region. The project is funded by Kainuu Regional Council and focuses on developing and marketing the feeder traffic at Kajaani Airport. The goal of the project is to improve accessibility to Kajaani Airport and enhance the smoothness of travel chains in Kainuu. This involves creating and piloting an invitation-based feeder transportation connection from Kajaani Airport to various municipalities in Kainuu. The project will implement multi-channel marketing, utilize and develop digital solutions, assess impacts, develop sustainable operational models based on these assessments, and promote the integration of these activities into the regional transportation system. As the project manager, you will be responsible for the implementation, management, and overall progress of the project. Success in this role requires strong project management skills, the ability to manage broad stakeholder groups, understanding and experience in marketing communication and digital services deployment, procurement preparation, and the ability to operate within a diverse network of partners. We require: - A relevant university degree (e.g., Bachelor of Hospitality Management, Bachelor of Business Administration) - Experience in project work and management - Ability to coordinate extensive cooperation networks - Proven experience in tourism marketing planning and implementation - Evidence of tourism development We value: - Experience with public procurement or transportation service procurement - Experience and evidence in developing transportation solutions - Collaboration skills and good networking abilities - Proficiency in Finnish and English, both spoken and written We offer: - Good employment benefits - A family-friendly workplace - Support from KAMK’s Tourism RDI team The salary for this position is €3,900.00–€4,200.00 per month, depending on experience (full-time salary). The position is part-time (80%), and salary is paid proportionally to working hours.
