Genomics Data Analyst - University of Helsinki - Helsinki, Finland

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the FinnGen consortium, one of the world’s largest genomic research initiatives, and contribute to a vibrant, international team with access to unique datasets and world-class computational resources. The Computational and Statistical Genomics group at FIMM, led by Simone Rubinacci, develops methods for large-scale human genomics and statistical genetics. Our work spans algorithm development, cloud computing, and population-scale sequencing to understand human disease and genetic variation better. This role sits at the core of our data infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that our WGS and WES data are clean, harmonized, and analysis-ready. Over time, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to downstream genomic analyses and methods work. Responsibilities include processing, quality control, and harmonization of large-scale sequencing datasets, building scalable workflows on HPC and cloud platforms, variant calling and QC, collaborating with researchers, and contributing to advanced analyses. We seek candidates with experience in processing and analyzing WGS/WES data, scripting in Python/R, working in Linux/HPC environments, and familiarity with genomic data tools. The role offers a salary of €4,500–5,500/month, a fixed-term contract of two years, and access to extensive genomic datasets and cloud infrastructure. The application deadline is July 17, 2026.
