Join us at Riihitonttu! In early January, a new daycare opened in Munkkiniemi, and we are looking to expand our staff as our activities grow. Together, we will build sensitive and child development-supportive early childhood education. You will help develop the operational culture and create good practices. Our focus areas include reading promotion and nature education. You will also bring your expertise into the community. You will work with a competent team and modern facilities. The daycare focuses on preschool children in Munkkiniemi, with three preschool groups totaling 56 children. The same building hosts the Swedish-speaking Daghemmet Elka. Why work with us? As a preschool teacher, you will be responsible for creating the operational culture and learning environment of your group, planning, implementing, developing, and evaluating pedagogical activities, and supporting individual learning according to the Helsinki early childhood education and preschool curriculum, the unit’s operational plan, and the child's Vasu. Qualifications: You must have a qualification under the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) or a transitional provision (75 §), such as a Bachelor's degree in Education, a suitable university of applied sciences degree, or an equivalent qualification, e.g., kindergarten teacher or social educator. Recognition of foreign education by the Finnish National Agency for Education is also accepted. You must also have the qualification to provide preschool education (regulations 986/1998 and 865/2005). Good oral and written Finnish skills are required. The selected person must present a valid criminal background check for working with children (504/2002). A tuberculosis certificate for working with underage children will be checked (Communicable Diseases Act § 55). Starting a permanent employment in 2026, we offer a 2000 euro bonus, paid only once.
