R&D / Production Designer to Make Plans into Working Production - Wulff Works Oy - Laitila, Finland

We are looking for an R&D / production designer for our client in Laitila, a growing metal industry company. In this role, you will directly influence how ideas and drawings are transformed into smooth, efficient production. You will act as a key link between the customer, design, and production, with your work visible in the finished products. Your daily tasks include working with drawings and models provided by customers, converting them into workable production entities, and ensuring that every detail supports smooth manufacturing. You will build clear structures, work instructions, and work steps for products, modify drawings and 3D models, and define materials and manufacturing methods in collaboration with production. You will also optimize costs, manufacturability, and functionality, and develop production efficiency in the long term. Success in this role requires a practical approach and the ability to understand the overall picture based on technical drawings. Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks is natural for you, and you understand the basic stages of metal industry production sufficiently to make practical solutions. You work systematically and accurately but are also proactive in identifying development areas and driving improvements. Your background could be, for example, a degree in production engineering or practical experience in the metal industry, such as thin sheet production or machine shop environments. Experience in product development, production control, or enterprise resource planning systems supports success in this role, but most importantly, we value a willingness to learn and develop operations.
