Job Description
The position requires a higher university degree suitable for the role, and additionally we require knowledge of the administration and laws of the sector, familiarity with OVTES, and experience in municipal administration tasks. We value leadership skills, strategic expertise, good negotiation and interaction skills, as well as an active development attitude. The Director of Education acts as the head of the department within the Education and Welfare Services main responsibility area. The main responsibility area includes administration of the sector, early childhood education and pre-primary education, basic education and after-school activities, secondary education, as well as sports, youth, library, and cultural services. The role also includes acting as the responsible official for the municipality’s library and cultural services. The duties also involve preparing and presenting matters for the Education and Welfare Committee. The Director of Education leads the organization of the department’s services and is responsible for their strategic, financial, and operational planning. The Director of Education is a member of the municipal management team. Employment terms are governed by the municipal general collective agreement. The total salary is 5000 - 6000 €/month depending on education and work experience. Applicants may also specify their own salary request. The application deadline is August 14, 2026, at 12:00.
